Delete your Litmus account and data

You can permanently delete your Litmus account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to do this.

Option 1: Delete it yourself in the app

Open Litmus and sign in.
Go to Settings.
Find Delete account and confirm.

This permanently removes your account and your associated data.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app, email litmus.admin@litmusbooksapp.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete your account. We may need to verify it's you before completing the request.

What gets deleted

Deletion removes the personal data tied to your account, including:

Your account and login.
Your profile (username, display name, bio, photos, customization, settings).
Your reading data (books, shelves, ratings, reviews, notes, reading sessions, streaks, goals).
Your social data (follows, club memberships and posts, chat messages, wall and guestbook comments, likes, and notifications).

What may remain

Deletion is permanent and your data is not recoverable afterward. In limited cases, some information may persist briefly in routine backups or system logs before being overwritten, and we may retain minimal records where required by law. Content that other people saved or quoted independently is not under your account's control.

Timing: in-app deletion takes effect immediately. Email requests are typically handled within a few days of verification.
